Last week, we announced that our lesson sequence for learning to read Thai was available. Since then, we’ve gotten some great feedback from our users. Here are some of the changes we’ve rolled out:
App Updates
- Fix for audio not playing on iOS browsers or safari
- Cosmetic changes to improve readability of course dashboard for phone-sized devices
- Fixed some typos in the lesson content
- Added the profile menu dropdown to the lesson viewer so users can go back to the dashboard from a lesson.
New Content
We’ve added two new lessons, Days of the Week and Months of the Year. As time progresses, we’ll be adding more content to these lessons. We’re also working on a classifiers lesson for our Thai for Fluency course. The Thai classifiers lesson will have a short interactive story with Q&A and review cards.
Short-term Road Map
As we continue to develop new content, we’ll also be developing new ways to interact with it. Here are a few ideas that are planned for upcoming releases.
- Rewind feature: The ability to step back and look at a previous card in a lesson
- Quick study: build a new lesson from words that you’ve encountered or practiced
- Speaking practice: Record your voice and play it back
- Dialog simulator: practice speaking and reading
- Word hunt: learn new words by clicking different areas of an image
- Matching & choose all that apply card types
We’re also planning on adding more metrics on the dashboard as well as enhanced gamification by adding mechanics like achievements and streaks.
